Pulsation Dampeners

A Pulsation Dampener is an accumulator with a set pre-charge that absorbs system shocks while minimizing pulsations, pipe vibration, water hammering and pressure fluctuations. By minimizing pulsation in the system components like regulators, solenoids, sensors, etc., pumps will see decreased wear and have longer life. Pulsation dampeners are tied directly onto the discharge manifold or plumbed immediately downstream of the pump.

CAT PUMPS offers a wide assortment of pulsation dampeners to meet the demands of any application. From completely sealed to completely re-buildable. The bladders are pre-charged with nitrogen.

Structure

The pulsation damper consists of a welded pressure vessel to which a nozzle is welded on the liquid side. The gas and liquid are separated by a previously inserted bladder. A bladder button is inserted in the bottom of the diaphragm to prevent destruction of the bladder when it is completely emptied. The bladder accumulator can be refilled by means of a gas filling screw. The liquid connection can be supplied in different versions. It is not possible to replace the bladder!
